GOLFERS PARADISE !!
In Northeast Florida, every day is a good day for Golf.
Home to some 50 golf courses and bathed year-round in bright sunshine, Jacksonville and the rest of Northeast Florida is, indeed, a golfer’s paradise. With choices ranging from plush, Oceanside resorts to popular public courses, the area’s 900 holes of golf offer challenges for players of all skill levels.

With so many quality courses and resorts to choose from, it’s easy to see why Jacksonville and the Beaches have long been considered great golf vacation sites. In fact, in 1996 Golf Digest rated the area as the "sixth best destination" in the country.

Below you'll find a brief description of just a few
of the region’s more popular links.

TPC at Sawgrass:

Amelia Island Plantation:
Recognized by Golf Magazine as one of the best golf resorts in America, Amelia Island Plantation’s 45 holes of championship golf capture the natural elements of the island’s terrain, while preserving the near-pristine habitat. Placed beneath a canopy of moss-covered oaks, the greens and fairways of two courses-featuring 27 holes designed by Pete Dye and 18 by Tom Fazio-border the ocean and coastal marshes.

Baymeadows Golf Club:
This ageless course, designed by Desmond Muirhead and Gene Sarazen, has matured into one of Jacksonville’s finest semi-private golf facilities. Baymeadows offers a well maintained and well marked 7,002-yard course as well as a fully stocked pro shop and a state-of-the-art lighted driving range that stays open till 10 PM.

The Course at Westland:
The Course at Westland offers a quality golf experience at a reasonable price. The challenging design is demanding enough for the low handicapper, yet playable for the high handicapper. With the completion of the new Tournament Event Pavilion, the course can accommodate outings of any size.

The Champions Club at Julington Creek:
The Champions Club is an 18-hole, par 72 course built among the scenic wetlands of Northeast Florida. More than 40 bunkers are scattered among the layout, positioned more for target than penalty. Four sets of tees allow the player to choose according to his or her own ability.

Deercreek Country Club:
At the heart of this private, par 71 course is a 285-acre nature preserve home to a variety of wildlife. So challenging is the course that, in 1996, Deercreek hosted the U.S. Open Championship Local Qualifier and the USGA Senior Amateur Qualifier.

Eagle Harbor Golf Club:
Carved into a forest of 36-foot-high pine trees, the Eagle Harbor golf course is highlighted by the beauty and challenge of numerous bodies of water. The course holds true to Clyde Johnston’s proven award-winning style as a golf course architect’s state-of-the-art practice facility including range and a unique island putting green.

Fernandina Beach Golf Club:
The Fernandina Beach Golf Club is a Northeast Florida golfing treasure. Located just 30 minutes north of Jacksonville International Airport, Fernandina Beach is a 27-hole facility lying just yards from the Atlantic Ocean.

Golf Club of Amelia Island at Summer Beach:
Designed by PGA Tour veterans Mark McCumber and Gene Littler, this 18-hole course embodies the tranquil beauty of Amelia Island. The meticulously maintained course was the site of the 1998 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a prestigious Senior PGA Tour event that attracted such golfing legends as Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez and Sam Snead. The course winds through majestic palm, pine and oak trees. A few holes offer views of the Atlantic Ocean.
